Since 2014, Jared Moore has been an independent energy consultant based in Washington, D.C.  His independent consulting company has enabled the time to invent as well as the means to fund the initial publications and patent applications for his inventions.  As a consultant, he provides technical policy analysis focusing on electricity markets, and more recently on the interaction between energy sectors.  Jared has consulted a wide variety of clients including the U.S. Department of Energy, think tanks, technology start-ups, venture capitalists, utilities, oil/gas companies, financial companies, advocacy organizations, and foreign governments.  His work has been published in multiple peer reviewed journals including Environmental Science and Technology, Environmental Research Letters, and the International Journal of Hydrogen Energy.  Jared Moore is also a contributing author of the book Variable Renewable Energy and the Electricity Grid (2014).  He earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in 2008 (Go Fightin' Engineers!).  In 2014, Jared earned a Ph.D. in Engineering and Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University.​
